Granite State Treatment

New Hampshire is known for its rich foliage and mountainous regions. Known as The Granite State for its abundance of granite, people across the nation come to New Hampshire to take in the breathtaking views of mountains, lakes, and forests.

-There was 653% increase in Heroin-related deaths

  • From 2013 to 2014, there was an 83% increase in incidents involving Narcan* administration

*Narcan (naloxone) is an opioid antagonist used to reverse the effects of an opioid

 Alcohol Abuse

New Hampshire frequently ranks as one of the highest states with alcohol misuse among adolescents, teens, and adults. According to the 2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health:

  • 17% of 12-17 year olds had used alcohol in the past month

9% reported binge drinking*

  • 73% of 18-25 year olds reported drinking in the past month

49% reported binge drinking*

*Binge drinking is described as having five or more drinks on one occasion

Widespread Addiction

Other substances, such as cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, and prescription painkillers are creating conflict in New Hampshire. As drug use takes its toll, more residents are seeking relief from addiction.
